Akselos provides the Integra® simulation platform which enables fast, large-scale, detailed analysis of critical assets. The platform provides standard FEA solvers, as well as Akselos’ unique Reduced Basis FEA (RB-FEA) technology which enables 1,000x acceleration compared to standard FEA with high fidelity model accuracy. Akselos Integra® software is based on unique, patented RB-FEA (Reduced Basis Finite Element Analysis) technology. RB-FEA is the result of a major 15-year research program at MIT sponsored by the US Department of Defense, with the goal of protecting critical infrastructure with live structural Digital Twins. Via the Akselos Integra® product suite, Akselos is the leading provider of structural Digital Twins for pressure vessels. An Akselos structural Digital Twin provides a high- fidelity model of an entire asset; it incorporates the current condition in the model (including key inspection-based data such as corrosion, cracks, and damage), and provides fast physics-based analysis of the behavior and structural integrity of the asset. This enables a broad range of high-value activities, such as:

  • Assessment of code checks of the vessel based on its current state (including inspection data such as corrosion, cracks, damage, etc).
  • Enable more targeted and efficient inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) workflows.
  • Track accumulated fatigue damage based on inspection and sensor data, and hence identify fatigue hotspots and underutilized structural capacity.
  • Consider analysis of many “what if” scenarios to identify and quantify risks.
  • Assess options for hull or topside modifications.
  • Understand strength and fatigue consequences of environmental conditions, including storms.
